What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service: your email address if you subscribe to our digest or contact us, the search queries you run on Phirky, any ratings or feedback you submit, and standard request data such as IP address and browser type collected by our infrastructure for security and basic operations.

We do not collect payment information, account passwords, precise location data, or information about children.

How we use it

We use this data to deliver the email digest you subscribed to, improve what Phirky recommends, identify gaps in our coverage, and keep the site secure. We do not sell your data, use it to build advertising profiles, or share your email address for marketing.

Who we share it with

We use third-party service providers for email delivery, hosting, maps, and AI-assisted content generation. These providers only receive the data needed to do their job and are bound by their own privacy obligations. We do not send your email address or personal information to AI providers — AI is used to enrich information about venues and events, not about you. We may disclose data when legally required, such as in response to a valid court order.

How long we keep it

Subscriber emails are kept while you're subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your email is marked inactive immediately and fully deleted within 90 days. Search queries are kept on a rolling 90-day basis. Ratings and feedback are retained to help us improve the product over time, and you can request deletion at any time.

Your rights

If you live in California (CCPA/CPRA) or another jurisdiction with privacy laws, you have the right to know what data we have about you, delete it, correct it, opt out of any sale of it (we don't sell any), and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any right, contact us using the links at the top of this page. We'll respond within 30 days.

AI-generated content

Some venue descriptions, activity summaries, and recommendations on Phirky are generated or edited with the help of AI. We review AI output for accuracy, but AI can make mistakes — please let us know if you spot something wrong. Your personal information is never sent to AI systems.

Children

Phirky is designed for parents to find activities for their children. It is not designed for children to use directly, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the data we hold, including encrypted connections and established hosting providers. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach occurs that affects you, we'll notify you promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and, where practical, notify email subscribers. Continued use of Phirky after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Phirky when you use our site. By using Phirky, you agree to them.

Accuracy of information

Phirky aggregates information about venues and events from many public sources. We work to keep it accurate, but hours shift, prices change, events get cancelled, and venues close. Always check the venue's own website or call ahead before visiting, especially for time-sensitive plans. We are not liable for information that changed after we last updated our data. If you spot something wrong, please tell us so we can fix it.

Responsible use

Please don't scrape or resell our content at scale, attempt to break or overload the site, submit false information, use Phirky to harass venues or organizers, or use the service for anything illegal. If you do, we may block your access.

Our content and yours

The curation, recommendations, guides, and editorial commentary on Phirky are our work — please don't republish them as your own. Factual data about venues and events comes from public sources. If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ratings, you give us permission to use them to improve Phirky, including anonymized excerpts in public contexts. We won't publish your email address or identifying information without your clear permission.

No endorsement of third parties

When Phirky recommends or links to a venue or event, we are not endorsing or vouching for everything that happens there. Your interactions with third-party venues and organizers are between you and them.

Service availability and liability

Phirky is provided as-is. We try to keep it online and working but do not guarantee uptime, and we may change or discontinue features at any time. To the extent the law allows, Phirky is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the past 12 months.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes that can't be resolved by email will be handled in California courts.
